Geographically, the Banten region wasclose to the West Java and Sumatra islands. Banten lies between the island of Sumatra, western Java and Jakarta. There is a famous volcano "Krakatoa" that last erupted in 1883 .
Banten residents has a strong religious roots with indigenous cultures that still exist in their lives. Banten community's main religion is Islam, which arrived in the region along with the spread of Islam in Sumatra and Sulawesi.
